Veteran Mindfulness Australia offers a broad range of mindfulness classes that are thoroughly enjoyed by our members, while promoting their mental and overall well-being. From yoga and art classes to meditation, dance and photography, eligible Australian Veterans & ex-ADF members can enjoy as many classes as they want every week at absolutely no cost.
To maximise the benefits of our classes, every member also receives complimentary weekly check-in calls from a mental health practitioner within our network, so you can choose to discuss anything that comes up in life or from the mindfulness activities – or choose not to, you’re in control.
Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, colouring, or sculpting to help people express themselves artistically and is used as a medium to help Veterans relax, manage stress and anxiety and tap into unaddressed thoughts and feelings.
Through our network of registered mental health pracitioners, we support Veterans to understand and address thoughts, emotions and behaviours to assist Veterans to live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives but addressing any underlying issues and providing short term coping mechanisms and long term strategies to help them manage.
Mindfulness is a practice we teach to help focus and calm the mind by training in attention and awareness. This can help Veterans achieve mental clarity and help them produce a calm and clear state of mind.
Our online yoga classes are a gentle way to improve your posture and balance, as well as a great way to provide physical exercise and help to focus and relax a buys mind. Yoga practises breath control, relaxation, diet control, positive thinking and meditation aimed at developing harmony in the body, mind, and environment. It is a great tool and routine for Veterans to help overcome or prevent mental illness.
